What is The Go Zone?

Hurricanes Katrina and Rita that hit the country middle of 2005 were considered the most devastating natural disasters the country has ever had. These calamities really had huge impact on the affected states' economy. Due to this, the Congress approved the house bill number HR 4440 on December 16, 2005 which was signed by President Bush five days later. HR 4440, otherwise known as the Gulf Opportunity Zone Act of 2005 or the GO Zone Act, offers several tax benefits to properties built and placed into service in the GO Zone region after the hurricanes. The incentives are being offered by the government to help bring back life once again to the affected areas and rebuild the economies of these states.
In addition, IRS Publication 4492 lists the disaster areas for each hurricane and explain which areas are eligible for administrative relief from the IRS and which areas receive special tax breaks under recently enacted provisions of the tax law, offering unique opportunities for both homeowners and investors alike.
By investing in the Go Zone, not only are investors privy to these new and exciting financial advantages, but they are also helping an ailing, yet quickly recovering region struck by recent tragedy to get back on its feet. Get in the Go Zone —you're not only helping yourself, but others as well!
